Journal of Comparative Literature and Aesthetics (JCLA) is an official organ of Vishvannath Kaviraja Institute of Comparative Literature and Aesthetics founded in 1977 for promotion of multidisciplinary studies and researches in literary culture. JCLA started its Publication (biannual) in 1978 with active cooperation by the global scholars of great eminence such as Rene Wellek, Harold Osborne, Mircea Eliade, John Fisher, Monroe. Beardsley, John Hospers, Meyer Abrams and many others following them. Milton Snoeyenbos worked as JCLA´s Foreign Editor and Ronald Roblin´s as the Book Review editor for over decades. Since its publication JCLA has been carrying the global intellectual history ahead highlighting The younger generation who are the frontline critical thinkers to determine the directions in contemporary thoughts.
Professor Ananta Ch. Sukla is Director of Vishvanatha Kaviraja Institute of Comparative Literature and Aesthetics (Orissa, India) and the founder editor of the Journal of Comparative Literature and Aesthetics (inception 1978). He was formerly Professor of English and Comparative Literature of Sambalpur University (Orissa) and Visiting Professor at the Institute of Aesthetics, University of Uppsala (Sweden). Sukla has lectured on aspects of Indian aesthetics vis-à-vis Western aesthetics at different European Universities such as Lampeter, Cardiff, Liverpool and Helsinki, and addressed several international conferences on comparative aesthetics and philosophy of art as plenary speaker / chairman at Lahti (Finland), Bologna (Italy) etc. |
